Town of Pilsen
February 22, 2022 Board Meeting Minutes

Present at the meeting were Gary Johanik, Bob Sukala, Dave Appelgren, Pam Brown and Suzi Misun. Also, present were Dave Mihalek, Bobby Pagac and Pete Raspolic.

1)         Call to Order:  Chairman Gary Johanik called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.

2)         Verify Open Meeting Notice given:  Chairman Johanik verified that the Open Meeting Notice had been given.

3)         Approval of January 25, 2022 Board Meeting Minutes:  Motion was made by Dave and seconded by Bob to approve the minutes of the January 25, 2022 board meeting.  Motion carried.

4)         Public Comment:  Gary opened the floor for public comment.  There were comments.

5)         Treasurer’s Report:  Pam presented the Treasurer’s Report.  The cash balance as of 1/31/2022 was $160,139.78 (which includes 2 C.D.s).  The current balance as of 2/21/2022 was $68,851.48 this amount does not include the 2 CDs.  The grader loan balance is $73,156.44 and the brush mower loan balance is $40,000.00.  Motion was made by Bob and seconded by Dave to approve the Treasurer’s Report as presented.  Motion carried.

6)         Set date to audit 2021 books:  The board will audit the 2021 books on Tuesday April 12, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

7)         Discuss/possible approval – Ordinance Establishing Split Shifts for Election Officials:  Motion was made by Dave and seconded by Bob to adopt Ordinance 2022-1 Establishing Split Shifts for Election Officials.  Motion carried.

8)         Discuss/possible approval wage increase for Town Employees:  Motion was made by Gary and seconded by Bob to set the following wages effective 3/1/2022:

Road Boss                    $23.00

Operator I                    $21.50

Operator II                   $17.25 (with less than 1,000 hours worked)

Operator II                   $17.75 (with over 1,000 hours worked)

Laborer                        $15.50

Hall Cleaning               $15.50

Election Official           $18.00

Motion carried.

9)         Discuss attending WTA District Meeting in Cable April 9, 2022:  Gary and Bob will be attending the meeting on April 9^th.

10)       Authorize Bob Pagac to post weight limits on roads as needed:  Motion was made by Dave and seconded by Bob to authorize Bob Pagac to post weight limits on roads as needed.  Motion carried.

11)       Discuss road damage on Cross Road and Old US 2:  Gary reported that he’s been contacted regarding damage being done on Cross Road and Old US 2.

12)       Road Boss:  Bobby Pagac gave an update on the projects that are being worked on.

13)       Review and payment of bills:  The clerk announced checks #7738 – #7759 and 1 ACH payment for a total of $113,521.68.  Motion was made by Dave and seconded by Bob to approve and pay bills for

14)       Set date for next meeting:  The next meeting was set for Tuesday March 29, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

15)       Adjournment:  There being no further business, motion was made by Bob and seconded by Dave to adjourn.  Motion carried.  The meeting ended at 9:02 p.m.
